Spoleto (PG) - Named the 2014 International Jury of the 68th edition of the competition "European Community" for Young Opera Singers, which will be held at the Teatro Nuovo in Spoleto from 26 February to 1 March 2014.
The Jury, chaired by renowned American soprano June Anderson (USA), will consist of: Suat Arikan (Superintendent and Artistic Director of the Opera House in Istanbul-Turkey), Carlo Donadio (representing the Artistic Director of Theatre dell'Opera di Roma, Italy), Mats Liljefors (Artistic Director of Festivals at the Royal Palace of Stockholm-Sweden and principal conductor of the Orchestra of the State Hermitage Museum), Besim Petrela (Artistic Director of the Opera of Tirana Albania and Artistic Director dell'Apolonia Fest), Wolfgang Schreiber (music critic for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and collaborator of Deutschlandradio Kultur-Germany) and Michelangelo Zurletti (Artistic Director of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto "A. Belli"-Italy).
The jury will come to Spoleto on February 25 to begin work on the morning of Wednesday 26 at the Teatro Nuovo.
Also this year, it is a very prestigious Commission composed of singers, musicians and directors of major Italian and foreign musical institutions. All aimed at a careful assessment of the candidates from the technical point of view and interpretation.
