Terni (TR) - Indisciplinarte in collaboration with New Theatre Institute of Latvia and the Festival of Cracow Theatrical Reminiscences, within the framework of the project CITIES DANCE MOVES, select 4 dancers were born, resident or domiciled in Umbria, regardless of age, who work with professional goals for a period of creative residency training and for the development of an international project that will end in the frame of European Capital of Culture 2014 Riga.
Dance Moves Cities is a project of international cooperation for a period of two years dedicated to the relationship between dance and urban spaces: how cities can be potential sources of inspiration for the choreographic creation, experimenting with a different space and mode of use.
Playing on oppositions Local / International Individual / Community, the project aims to push the dance out of the traditionally dedicated to it and reshape public space. Objectives are to promote opportunities for professionalization, support the international visibility of Italian artists and give life to a local and international community of professionals who are able to cooperate and produce new creations.
The project consists of 4 periods of training and residency of one month each headed by international artists and aimed at a select group of dancers. During these residencies, a period of training dedicated to the exploration of alternative places to dance in traditional containers, will be accompanied by the creation of a choreographic work individually.
In the final phase, all participants will meet in Riga and will be able to work together on a choreographic project for public spaces that will be shown in the frame of European Capital of Culture 2014 Riga.

Candidates will be subjected to an initial selection on the basis of the evaluation of the application form. The shortlist of dancers will be convened in Terni at the facilities of the factory CHAOS Arts Center Syrians September 22, 2013 for a second round of selection which will take place in the frame of Terni International Festival of contemporary creation (19 to 29 September 2013).
