Olive harvest in the third Heaven

Assisi (PG) - For the whole weekend from Friday 1st November to Sunday, November 3, from 9 to 17, the Bosco di San Francesco in Assisi, Good of the FAI - Italian Environment Fund, is organizing a volunteer day for the olive harvest to the Third Heaven. The 121 olive trees of the work of land art by Michelangelo Pistoletto will be the protagonists of this beautiful day in contact with nature, in which participants will be able to enjoy interacting within the Third Heaven designed by the artist.
At the end of pressing, all volunteers will be given a bottle of oil.

In the same days, at 11 am, visitors can also participate in a special guided tour in the company of Luke Chiarini, Property Manager of the Wood, discovering three different routes - scenic, historical and spiritual - with special insights into the maintenance and protection of this place.
At the end of the visit will also set up a tasting of genuine products, with a great variety of honeys, jams and cheeses.

In 2003 Pistoletto wrote the manifesto of the "Third Heaven" and it draws the symbol, the "New Infinity Sign", consisting of a reconfiguration of the mathematical sign of infinity. Between the two circles opposites, taken to the meaning of nature and artifice, is inserted a central circle, to represent the generative womb of the "Third Heaven" ideal of overcoming destructive conflict in which nature and artifice are in today's society. In 2010, the artist created a great work of permanent land art: the sign of the "Third Heaven" formed by 121 olive trees located in walkable area of 3000 square meters inside the wood restored Francis of Assisi, in collaboration with FAI - Italian Environmental Fund.
