Perugia (PG) - Perugia. The early Christian marty and bishop, St Ercolano, one of the patron saints of Perugia and the protector of the city's ancient university, will be celebrated on his feast day, November 7th. On this date in 547 AD Ercolano was condemned do death during the siege of Perugia by the Goths under Totila.
The traditional luminaria procession will wend its way with torches through the streets from the old seat of the university in Piazza Matteoti to the Church of Sant'Ercolano.
