It will be presented Thursday, Sept. 5 at 21 at the Church of the Holy Cross commemorative volume "Palio de San Michele 50 years of passion. Enclosed in an elegant layout, 456 pages and 915 images stop in time thoughts, plans and ambitions of this feast, significant moments for the many citizens who have allowed their enthusiasm and their passion to pursue in the years this event.
The Board thanks the many private Palio, companies, associations and institutions that, despite the difficult economic times, who believed in this ambitious project and have made possible the publication.
The book is divided into four thematic sections: opens with "The history and the people," excursus on the birth of the districts and races, the first steps, the difficulties and the raising of quality, the associations that they have used in time, the Church and the patron Saint Michael.
Follows a catalog that describes each year, from 1963 to 2012, what happened in each edition: events, anecdotes, curiosities and emotions told through the voice of rionali of today and yesterday. Remarkable and fascinating sketches of floats and costumes, often unknown to most people, and the lines extrapolated from the scripts of many Parades, theater performances that transform the square every year and enchant the audience.
The third section is devoted to the race of Minipalio; closes the volume a collection of charts, rolls of gold, statistics, titles of Tavernas and Parades.
