The Administration has designed, in collaboration with relevant bodies such as the Superintendence for Historical, Artistic and Cultural Heritage of Umbria, the State Archives of Perugia, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Perugia and the 'Accademia di Belle Arti Pietro Vannucci in Perugia, the realization of some significant events that worthily commemorate this historical event.

This is the title of the exhibition that begins with a quote penned by the notary in the contract of Antonio Happy allocation of the Committee to Pietro Perugino, that he subscribes to a salary of 100 florins, and undertakes to carry out a period of eight months .

As in 2004, to make it as complete as possible the offer to scholars, visitors and faithful, it was designed a double itinerary: the first in the parish church, the second in the church-museum of San Francesco.
In the church of Santa Maria, where for 500 years has kept the shovel that has in some way contributed to writing the history of the building itself, the project provides a virtual installation that will reclaim the ancient effigy of the painting before the historical interventions after they cause it to alter structure, adapting it to the new fashions and dictates post-conciliar liturgical.
The reconstruction and projection of the party's architectural wooden wall that framed the table of the 'Assumption of the Virgin and the compartments of the predella were conceived and designed by a multidisciplinary team with the intention of recreating, by means of advanced technology, the setting original altarpiece.
The results of a detailed scientific investigation, conducted with the use of the tools of documentary research and architectural significance, justified the adoption of a scheme tripartite measured by four pilasters of the Corinthian order, in which light from the central arch has a size double compared to the lateral ones. Taking into account the fact that the documentary evidence testify to a height of more limited of the sixteenth-century church, the order is devoid of the entablature and is surmounted by a crown circular segmental arches. The same configuration is detectable in carpentry, framing the Baptism of Christ (1515-1518) of Giannicola of Paul in the chapel of St. John at the Collegio del Cambio in Perugia, made ​​by the same master Antonio Bencivenni from Mercatello.
In the reconstruction, based on the information contained in a contract, took particular emphasis decoration to 'snail', which adorns the fornix and the crowning glory, combined with the other decorative motifs typical Perugino.
The party adopted architectural admits two possible slots for the frames of the 'Annunciation and of the' Adoration of the Child: the base of the main table and the bottom of the two side niches. Making full use of the possibilities associated with the use of video projection, it was decided to alternate the vision of both hypotheses.
The project "projective" (which implies the superposition of the original digital image) involves the use of a multi-screen white canvas at the current frame, in order to minimize the visual changes caused by the morphology of the apse wall . The image of the original configuration of the blade to project, the so-called mapping stage, is deliberately deformed by means of dedicated software for the purpose of applying fixes optical-graphics. The intervention of virtual projection of the reconstruction is configured so as an example of interior visual projection that seeks to reconstruct a spatial configuration is now lost and propose an interaction space with the present nave. New technologies, in this case the media arts, determine a condition that multi-perspective, intermedial and intermodal, with the dual purpose of scientific investigation and artistic performance. To offer the most comprehensive, as the place of worship does not lead to any additional equipment, the project intends to develop the proposed topic within the church-museum of San Francesco.

A second aspect that will be addressed here concerns the restoration. Starting from the last, which involved the painting corcianese in 2003-2004, we trace the history of the interventions until reaching the historic one conducted in 1838 by Giuseppe Carattoli, restorer and copyist distinguished by Perugino.
A critical documentary apparatus will be the corollary to the artistic part.
To make it more tangible as proposed, the exhibitions will be accompanied by a catalog that gathers input from scholars and technicians who treated the various aspects of scientific research.
