From Waterfall to the Tiber

Terni (TR) - At the State Archives (exhibition hall of the Palazzo Mazzancolli, via Cavour, 28 - Terni) is open to the public with a documentary section of the exhibition entitled:
The channels in the pre-industrial age and the exploitation of the water until the construction of the Channel Nerino.
The exhibition, curated by Luigi Di Sano, Aurelia Proietti, Letizia Salvatori and Filippa Trummino, consists in the exposition of documents drawn primarily from the Historical Archives of the City of Terni and the maps of the Gregorian Cadastre 1819.

On display are the records of parchment municipal land registers from 1369, in which there are channels called Matterhorn, Sersimone, Radius Radius Old and New and the testimony of mills operated by these channels. Continues with the Riformanze (the acts of the municipality of Terni 1385-1860) which show the attention of the municipal authority in the care and management of the canals and the banks of the Black River. They are also exposed ancient plants, from the end of the sixteenth century, in which it appears the Black River and the representation of mills in the territory in maps of the Gregorian Cadastre.

Opening hours: Monday and Saturday 9.00-13.00; Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and Friday 9.00-13.00 and 15.30-18.30.

At the bct-Public Library of Terni (room Farini, Republic Square - Terni from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 18:30 and Saturday from 8:30 to 13:00) is open to the public a bibliographic section of the exhibition entitled Terni and its waters that collects manuscripts on Marmore Falls owned by Luigi Lanzi beyond the documentary section of the publications on the waters of our province.
