"All is Jazz" on display works by Michele Bocelli at Umbria Jazz

 

The Umbria Jazz has been for years a fixture for all lovers of jazz and beyond.

The artist Michele parmesan Bocelli has always had a great passion for this kind of music so much that he decided to create a triptych of works devoted entirely to this world.

Bocelli was born in Milan in 1963, he graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera Milan in 1989 before specializing in illustration and graduating from Parsons School of Design at the American University of Paris in 1994.

The 3 works with the technique of oil painting on wood and gilding will be exhibited for the first time in the prestigious location of the Hotel Sangallo Palace Perugia for the entire period of Umbria Jazz festival July 5 to 14, 2013.

It is 3 rounds, two 110 cm and a diameter of 99 cm, narrating the history of jazz inspired by the music critic Arrigo Polillo.

So the artist Michele Bocelli describes his own works: "In these paintings speak of the origin of Jazz and then from the brothels of New Orleans, to the visions of the past ascetic jazz musicians."

Depicted in the triptych are the pillars of the jazz world the likes of Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, Ornette Coleman, Charles Mingus, Billy Holyday, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, John Coltrane.

The paintings are intended as a general summary from the beginning until almost the present day, through the time span of the twentieth century.

The previous works have been exhibited Bocelli also at: Modula Art Gallery of Parma, Galleria Duomo of Verona, Mc Art Monte Carlo, Marseilles International Art Exhibition, London Art One Gallery, The Collector of Rome, Art Centre St. Vidal Venice and Kan Studio of Parma.
