"Classic & Jazz" is the title of the opening concert of the 15th edition of "International UmbriaMusicFest", scheduled for September 12 to 22. The event, conceived and conducted by internationally renowned Walter Attanasi, kicks off Friday, September 12th at the Teatro Morlacchi. Will take the stage the teacher Attanasi, jazz pianist Danilo Rea and the Czech Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra (artistic director K. Procházka).
The concert, a divertissement unique, born from the meeting and consultation of two established musicians, very curious and from two seemingly disparate worlds: the classical and jazz. It is, in fact, the master Walter Attanasi, conductor of international reputation, and Danilo Rea, one of the most important pianists of the Italian jazz scene.
Their idea originates from a small feature: the verb "play" in almost any language means "play." From here, like a real game, each respecting the other's language has developed this program. A sort of playful dissertation on the possibility to verify what can be harmonious and fun the insertion of a "comment", an improvisation jazz within filogica careful reading of a classical repertoire, obviously with the devices "technical" acts in the operation.
To embellish the initiative is the collaboration of the prestigious Czech Virtuosi orchestra, in a spectacular setting as the Teatro Morlacchi, involved in a creative activity that unites artists of various nationalities in the pure play of music.
The concert is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Perugia, Italy Art Fest. The evening is in support of the candidacy "Perugia2019 with places of Francis of Assisi and Umbria", candidate city for European Capital of Culture in 2019.
UPCOMING EVENTS - The 15th edition of "UmbriaMusicFest International", which enjoys the patronage and support of the Region of Umbria, will continue Saturday, September 20th with a concert scheduled at home Menotti in Spoleto and Sunday, September 21 at the Cloister of Massa Martana. It will conclude on Monday 22 settempre at the University for Foreigners of Perugia, with an exhibition organized in collaboration with Penelope, a national association of families and friends of missing persons.
WALTER Attanasi - Born in Trieste, is considered one of the most exciting conductors of his generation and is often invited to conduct operatic and symphonic repertoire for several prestigious institutions, theaters, foundations and international festivals: the Teatro alla
La Scala in Milan, the Arena diVerona, the San Carlo in Naples, the Rome Opera, the Teatro Comunale of Florence, Cagliari Opera House, the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto, the Musikverein and the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Staatsoper Hamburg, the Colon of Buenos Aires, the Opera de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, and the Rudolfinum Prague National Opera, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Vilnius, Budapest Opera, the Royal Opera House in Stockholm, several halls concert in Japan, the SA State Theatre Opera House in Pretoria (Tshwane), etc.
In 2004, he conducted the New Year Concert on live television from the Quirinal to 50 years of RAI, at the request of the President of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi. In February 2005 he was invited to hold the Commemorative Concert for the 700th anniversary of the University of Rome La Sapienza, directing The Creation by Joseph Haydn in 2008 and at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm, in the presence of the Swedish royal family, has direct La Cenerentola by Rossini. His extensive discography includes Stabat Mater by Gioacchino Rossini, all the symphonies of Beethoven, recordings of Leoš Janáãek and Antonín Dvorák. For Companions Opera in Amsterdam has recorded in DVD Nabucco. He also recorded for Radio 3 Rai works Bluebeard's Castle by B. Bartok and Djamileh by G. Bizet and the Radio Television of Slovakia Verdi's Requiem on DVD. His versatility has led him to collaborate with such jazz greats as Diane Reeves at Umbria Jazz and Quincy Jones, Stefano Di Battista and Roberto Gatto at the Global Forum in Rome. He also directed Paul McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio and a DVD with Tarja Turunen.
He was music director of Todi Musi c Fest - USA in Virginia and Project Artistic Director of Opera Africa in Pretoria - Johannesburg. He is currently director of the International Festival UmbriaMusicFest, and Principal Guest Conductor of the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the orchestras' s most prestigious of the Czech Republic.
DANILO REA - Born in 1957, he moved to Rome from an early age and received his diploma in piano at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia, making his debut in 1975 in jazz music with the Trio di Roma (Enzo Pietropaoli and Roberto Gatto). He makes his way into jazz up playing with some of the greatest American soloists, such as Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, John Scofield, Joe Lovano. In 1989 participates in the work of Roberto De Simone, Requiem for Pier Paolo Pasolini, performed at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples for the direction of Zoltan Pesko; in the same year he published together with Roberto Gatto Sudden disc. In 1997, gives life, with bassist Enzo Pietropaoli and drummer Fabrizio Sferra the Doctor 3, a trio that treads a decade of the most important stages of the Italian jazz. His album The Tales of Doctor is awarded 3 best album of Italian jazz in 1998, while the next job The songs REMAIN the same wins the title of the best jazz album of Music & Discs in 1999 In Italy there are many its performance under the pop, as a pianist of trust by artists such as Mina, Claudio Baglioni, Pino Daniele and as a collaborator, among others, Fiorella Mannoia, Gianni Morandi and Adriano Celentano. In the 2007-2008 season, participating in the show Men in tails along with other musicians like Peppe Servillo, Fausto Mesolella, Mimi Ciaramella Avion Travel, Fabrizio Bosso, Furio Di Castri, Javier Girotto, Gianluca Petrella and Cristiano Calcagno. The show was staged at the Teatro di Correggio Asioli to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of In the blue painted blue for the occasion, the group performs some songs by Domenico Modugno. CZECH VIRTUOSI - The Czech Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra (artistic director K. Procházka) was founded and began his concert career in January 1998, the group consists of the first parts, including the first violin, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Brno that in Brno Janáček Opera Orchestra and is one of excellence in the Czech music scene. The repertoire though mainly relates to Mozart and the classical period, also includes works from the Baroque to the present day, not only symphony, but also sacred music (cantatas and oratorios) and lots of opera music. The Czech Virtuosi are regular guests of Czech and international festivals (Austria, France, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Germany, Holland, Belgium and others). Among the most successful concerts include the Konzerthaus of Vienna, Monaco, and the Salzburg tour in Japan. With this team collaborating musicians, opera singers and famous directors from all over the world and also an intense activity 'record.
