The 14th edition of the Festival Pianistico di Spoleto from April 16th to May 2nd aims to pay tribute to the bicentenary of the birth of Frédéric Chopin (1810-2010), the composer who perhaps more than any other devoted his artistic career to exploring the expressive potential of the piano.
Organised by Musici Artis Umbria, the festival has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Comune di Spoleto and the support of the Regione dell’Umbria, the Fondazione CaRiSpo, the Banca Popolare di Spoleto, Spoleto Credito e Servizi, the Fondazione Francesca, Valentina e Luigi Antonini, the Lions and Rotary Clubs of Spoleto.
With a number of institutions and countries across the world celebrating the figure of Chopin, the programme of the Festival Pianistico di Spoleto nonetheless boasts a number of international and Italian performers of the great Polish composer, along with emerging young talent, music for schools, concerts and drinks and more...
The major Grande Classica section of the festival – its main attraction – will have five concerts dedicated to Chopin.
