Assisi (PG) - Assisi (Pg). Traditionally held on Pentecost, the Palio di Pasqua Rosata is a crossbow tournament that followed the bishop's ceremony of imparting First Communion to the children of the diocese. Originally held on the steps of the Basilica of St Francis', the Palio has since been moved to a hill outside town after one of the magnificent stained glass windows of the cathedral was damaged during one of the contests.
Besides the Palio itself there will be a whole series of craftsmen making objects according to the traditions and techniques used in the Middle Ages.
