Assisi (PG) - Assisi is ready to host the second edition of the March of the 8 ports, the event is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, September 7 along the streets of the historic birthplace of St. Francis, Unesco World Heritage Site, a distance of about 7,000 meters with departure and arrival in the beautiful scenery of Piazza del Comune at 20.00.
The event will have a competitive part and will be valid as evidence of the Regional Championship Endas podismo 2013, but there will also be the non-competitive open to all walkers who want to try the same route of 7 km. or of the reduced of 2.5 Km
Also this year to dictate the pace runners to be the presence of the Little Drummers Part of the Noble De Above that in Piazza del Comune with their drums can create a special atmosphere very addictive. The route remains the same as last year, through which you will reach the main medieval gates to the city Porta Nuova, Porta dei Cappuccini, Perlici Porta, Porta San Giacomo, San Francesco gate, Porta San Pietro, Sementone port, port of Mojano. The first section is also open to walk 2.5 km, will lead participants in front of the Basilica of Santa Chiara and, suddenly rising up the slopes of Subasio, it will come down near the Roman Amphitheatre and Cathedral of San Rufino until you return in the Town Square where stands the magnificent Temple of Minerva, the Tower and the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo. The second stretch for agonists and non-competitive who want to try in a test exciting and challenging, will lead the athletes in front of the magnificent Upper and Lower Basilica of St. Francis, the Abbey of St. Peter, Fontebella, the Piazza Fontana and the Bishopric, up to return to front wing Basilica of Santa Chiara with arrival in Piazza del Comune.
Followed by a rich Pasta Party at the Hall of times and, in the event of good weather, outside on the Piazzetta of the New Church, the birthplace of St. Francis, with tasting of typical products.
The evening will be accompanied by exceptional testimonial and the presence of a large band of Assisi, the Abraxas, which will inspire all those present on the beautiful notes of Carlos Santana.
The organization Assisi Runners will provide participants a parking place in the parking of Mojano.
